DJI Mic 2

Pocket-sized Pro audio.
A versatile and affordable wireless microphone system.
If you’ve ever tried shooting video outdoors, you know how difficult it can be to record quality audio – passing cars or even the slightest breeze can ruin a recording in an instant. That’s why a quality, minimalist audio recording kit like the DJI Mic 2 has always been in demand.
The DJI Mic 2 is a tiny transmitter and recorder about half the size of a Tic-Tac box. While it’s not small enough to go completely unnoticed (unless you’re using a lavier mic), it’s stylish enough to be visible on camera and blend into the overall scene. Unlike the previous model (DJI MIC), which was only available in black, the DJI Mic 2 transmitter is now available in both semi-transparent black and white.
The DJI Mic 2 is a significant improvement over the original model, offering superior compatibility via Bluetooth, Lightning, USB-C or 3.5mm adapters.
DJI touts smart noise cancellation built into the transmitter, which many users may find skeptical at first. Often people prefer to record the audio as cleanly as possible and make the necessary adjustments later. However, DJI has once again offered a surprisingly effective solution with noise cancellation that is quite effective and does not distort the audio, although the final judgment is up to each user.
Another major upgrade is support for 32-bit floating audio. This is a significant advantage when filming in environments where the sound level cannot always be controlled. In short, this means that the DJI Mic 2 can record a much wider range of audio, making it easier to adjust audio levels later and avoid situations where someone’s speech is unexpectedly too loud and disruptive.
Long battery life, ease of use, and all of the above features make the DJI Mic 2 one of the most convenient recording systems on the market. The original transmitters and receivers had 320 mAh batteries, while the DJI Mic 2 boasts 360 mAh batteries. The charging case has also increased from 2600 mAh to 3250 mAh. It’s designed for content creators, podcasters, live streamers, videographers and anyone else who wants to simplify their work with premium audio recording equipment. Operating speed is often as important as recording quality.
The charging case can fully charge an empty device in just over an hour – not the fastest option if the battery dies while you’re shooting, but since you can use one mic while charging the other, there’s enough flexibility for a full day’s work.
In terms of compatibility, direct Bluetooth connectivity is a big step forward. This means the transmitter can connect directly to your phone, tablet or other DJI device via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for a receiver when recording. It’s worth noting, however, that this may reduce battery life a bit, and you may miss out on some key system features like noise cancellation and 32-bit floating audio.
In addition, camera users can connect the receiver via a 3.5mm TRS cable, while for Sony camera users, DJI has made life very convenient – the DJI Mic 2 receiver can be connected to a Sony camera without a TRS cable using the DJI Mic 2 Camera Adapter.
The transmitter is easily compatible with other DJI products such as Osmo Action 4, Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo Mobile 6, Pocket 2, Osmo Action 3, Osmo Mobile 5, RS 3 Mini and Ronin 4D.
However, the transmitter is only one part of the perfect package – the complete DJI Mic 2 package includes:

  • two transmitters
  • one receiver
  • charging case.

The price of the complete DJI Mic 2 set is €349

DJI MIC

DJI Mic is a compact, lightweight and powerful wireless microphone system that provides excellent sound quality at distances of up to 250 m. The transmitter provides clear, professional-level recording of vocals, ambient sounds or musical instruments. With built-in storage, the DJI Mic can be used to record primary or backup audio while recording. Turn on, connect and record crystal clear audio on the go.
Different devices mean different input adapters, and the DJI Mic covers them all. The receiver has USB-C, Lightning and 3.5mm TRS ports, making it compatible with mainstream smartphones, cameras and laptops.
Spend less time worrying about battery life with the included charging case. The receiver and transmitters can be charged in the case to achieve up to 15 hours of operation time for unlimited creation.
The secondary audio track is recorded as a backup with a volume of -6 dB. This helps protect your audio if sound loss is caused by issues such as damage or clipping.
