DJI Flip

DJI Flip

Next-Generation Drone

The innovative design of this first-of-its-kind drone makes it an ideal choice for both vlogging and everyday aerial photography.
The DJI Flip is an exciting newcomer to the drone world, offering features that are suitable for both beginners and more experienced users. Its foldable design and multi-functional capabilities are suitable for vloggers, social media creators, and those who want to capture unique perspectives comfortably and safely. However, the Flip’s image quality and flight stability fall slightly short of the more camera-focused DJI Mini 4 Pro, which offers a wider dynamic range and 4K 100fps recording.
Pros and Cons

DJI Flip – Design and User Experience
DJI Flip stands out with its first foldable propeller guards, providing additional safety – especially when flying in crowded places or indoors. Propeller guards not only improve drone safety, but also allow for palm takeoff and landing, eliminating the need for landing pads or designated takeoff zones. This means you can fly your drone almost anywhere, as long as it’s legal and safe to do so. The Flip’s design is taller than DJI’s Mini series drones, giving it a unique look. When folded, it resembles a futuristic spaceship, and when unfolded, it looks like a hybrid between an FPV Cinewhoop drone and a traditional camera drone.
The flight experience is smooth, but wind resistance is not its strong point. Top speed reaches up to 43 km/h (in Sport mode), but the drone slows down significantly in strong winds. However, in calm conditions, the Flip remains stable enough for beginners and those looking for advanced vlogging features.

Camera Performance and Vlogging Features
Designed with vloggers and social media creators in mind, the Flip supports both horizontal and vertical video recording. While vertical frames are cropped from the horizontal sensor, it’s still plenty good enough for vlogging and works well on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
The camera has a 1/1.3-inch sensor that allows it to capture 12MP and 48MP photos and record up to 4K 60fps video. Additionally, users can choose a D-Log M profile, which is suitable for advanced creators who want to use color grading in post-production. Photos are of decent quality—sharp in the center but a bit softer around the edges.

Is the DJI Flip right for you?
If you’re a beginner or somewhat experienced flier looking for a drone with features tailored for vlogging and simple aerial photography, the DJI Flip is a great choice. Its safety-focused design, multiple control options, and social media-friendly features are strong selling points. However, if you need a drone primarily for high-quality footage or greater maneuverability, the DJI Mini 4 Pro is a better option. However, the Flip is still a beginner-friendly drone that offers great value for money, especially for vloggers and social media creators.
