Description
Durable and waterproof up to 10m
Fully waterproof and as durable as ever, HERO12 Black is ready to capture fun moments on any adventure. GoPro’s legendary durability withstands all challenges and continues to work even in mud, snow or water (up to 33 feet/10 meters). Water-repellent lens glass helps reduce glare and other light defects to make your photos and videos even more beautiful.
2x longer battery life
The significantly improved battery efficiency of the HERO12 Black uses the same included 1720mAh Enduro battery as the previous model, but offers 2x longer 5.3K 60fps video runtime. You get 70 minutes of continuous recording at 5.3K 60Fps (at the highest setting), plus over 1.5 hours at 5.3K 30fps and over 2.5 hours of continuous recording at 1080p 30fps . In addition, the Enduro battery uses advanced technology that also increases the performance of GoPro’s previous cameras and batteries in cold conditions.
High dynamic range photo + video
HERO12 Black takes its best image quality to the next level with HDR for both video (5.3K and 4K) and photos. Perfect for environments with shadows and bright lights, HDR captures fine scene details that would normally blend into the darkness of shadows or disappear into the bright areas of the frame. The result is dynamic material with true colors and a sharp image.
Incredible image quality
HERO12 Black’s 5.3K video offers 91% more resolution than 4K and an incredible 665% more than 1080p, capturing action with sharp detail and cinematic image quality with High Dynamic Range (HDR), while also allowing for 27MP photos. With the GoPro Quik app, you can capture beautiful photos from your favorite videos up to 24.7MP.
Up to 8x slow motion
Everything is even more awesome in slow motion. HERO12 Black allows you to record action in up to 8x slow motion at up to 2.7K resolution for normal speed playback, or in ultra-smooth slow motion to capture details invisible to the naked eye.
Emmy® Award-winning HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization
HyperSmooth continues to set the standard for insanely smooth framing and has the hardware to back it up—a 2021 Emmy® winner for in-camera sensor and software stabilization. The HERO12 Black makes it even better by maximizing HyperSmooth AutoBoost performance with more stabilization while offering less image cropping. Ride your bike, rollerblade, ski, chase your kids around the park, or capture great POV shots of your pet—even the shakiest shots are silky smooth.
360° Horizontal lock
Give your videos a professional film look by keeping the horizon stable, straight and smooth. The HERO12 Black Linear + Horizon Lock digital lens keeps your footage stable even when the camera rotates in full 360° recording. Combined with HyperSmooth, Horizon Lock delivers ultra-smooth material that looks perfectly straight. You don’t need a gimbal or stabilization software to get professional quality results.
Extra large viewing angle
The HERO12 Black’s powerful image sensor offers the largest field of view of any HERO camera ever. It offers extra-large 8:7 aspect ratio frames that fit more into every frame, giving you a large canvas for your creativity. Simply use the GoPro Quik app to scale, crop, and edit your footage while preserving the rich textures and sharpness of your footage. HERO12 Black takes 8:7 a step further with HyperView. This GoPro exclusive digital lens captures 8:7 footage and displays it as a wider 16:9 frame. The result is a highly immersive video that adds action-based POV shots to include more of you and your surroundings.
Compatible with the new Max Lens Mod 2.0
Add the Max Lens Mod 2.0 to the HERO12 Black to make it the widest POV camera in the HERO range — up to 177° (original Max Lens Mod 155°). With a 36% larger field of view (FOV) and 48% larger vertical recording, it offers the most immersive 4K 60fps resolution and the highest stabilization — Max HyperSmooth. There’s also Horizon Lock and 1080p120 video for extremely stable 4x slow motion recording with maximum FOV.
8-bit, 10-bit and log video
HERO12 Black lets you choose between 8-bit, 10-bit or log video recording. Capable of displaying over 1 billion colors, 10-bit mode provides deeper color depth, smoother transitions and more realism in your videos, while 8-bit mode results in smaller file sizes. Advanced users can use log recording to get more detailed information about the footage while making the necessary color adjustments in post-processing.
Time SyncFor advanced users with more than one HERO12 Black, it’s possible to sync them to the exact same time code for multi-camera footage.
